Always We Hope

Always we hope for better, more, greater… but dear friend, hope is not a strategy!

The answers according to Lao Tzu

lie at the centre of your being…

In that deep place of inner knowing … within your soul.

The challenge is to be aware that you always have choice. No matter what your circumstances or situation, there are always choices you can make. This may seem difficult to grasp when we think of people in extreme situations, but yes, there is choice even in the worst situations. The very bottom line is that you can choose your thoughts, choose how you think about where you find yourself in life.

How amazing is it that you can talk to yourself in your mind

Tim Freke

You have the capacity to imagine a future and frame intentions. Once you let go of the possibility of choice, the walls of your life close in around you and become solid, unmanageable objectors to your creative mind.

Your life becomes reduced to an endless repetition of behaviours and ways of being in the world, instead of embracing the fresh unfolding of endless possibilities and opportunities.

There is always choice, even though we often dismiss these choices without due consideration. My work often finds me supporting people to unearth and push the pause button, long enough to become aware that there are many choices in every situation, and awareness is the first step to change.

Nature is not kind to creatures without awareness

Moshé Feldenkrais

No one else has the answers and no other time or place would be better. You are where you are, and now is the only time you know that you have. You know deep inside what you want and you know what you can do to achieve it.

Sometimes it takes sitting with a wise person to help you discover that wisdom situated deep inside, to sit with it, unfold it and embrace the wisdom of your soul.

Challenge:
Find that person, who has the wisdom to sit with you.

Who will ask you the questions you need to consider.

Who will not run away from the questions, but love them into answers…

and who will accompany you through the many choices that will unfold, and nourish the possibilities that lie within into new realities.

Always we hope

Someone else has the answer

Some other place will be better,

Some other time it will turn out.

This is it.

No one else has the answer

No other place will be better,

And it has already turned out.

At the center of your being

You have the answer,

You know who you are

And you know what you want.

There is no need to run outside

For better seeing.

Nor to peer from a window.

Rather abide at the center of your being;

For the more you leave it, the less you learn.

Search your heart and see the way to do is to be.
